This message is for all our bidders and buyers in this afternoon’s ZLU auction!
Today during the close of the ZLU auction (part 1) there has been a certain period of downtime of our website. The technical people (from Hilarius/Cloudflare) suspect with absolute certainty that it was caused by a (“brutal force”) DDoS attack. Such a DDoS attack basically means a way to bombard our Pigeoncom website with fake traffic for the purpose of preventing users from visiting the site. As you may have noticed, we have now added a (temporary) security check when accessing our website. This extra layer of protection against possible DDoS attacks has been added to our website via Cloudflare. This extra security can cause a problem locally (on your PC, tablet or phone), but normally our site is accessible. We realize that this extra Cloudflare security is not an optimal situation and so our developers will investigate the matter further this week and take/implement all required steps to ensure that such a DDoS attack can no longer cause our site to be shut down!
