ROBIN BAKHUIS

 

The pigeons where Robin Bakhuis started with are mainly from AP Overwater, Wim & Mart Derksen and Comb. Verweij-de Haan (“MILOS”), but Robin’s international fame is caused by a super couple “DE WIERSMA” x “DOCHTER MR. GIJS” !!

 

 

 

The current stock is mainly built around that super couple: “DE WIERSMA” (Comb. Wiersma & Zn) and a hen of Appie Pas, “DOCHTER MR. GIJS“.

“DE WIERSMA” comes from E. Wiersma & Zn. and proved with its nocturnal arrivals that the quality “nightflying” is in his genes. In the middle of the night he won the 3rd National Perigueux against more than 7,000 pigeons and the 28th National Bergerac against more than 6,000 pigeons. That resulted in the 12th National Ace pigeon NPO Marathon, after which Robin decided to place him in the breeding loft.

 

The mother of the famous couple is a daughter of “MR. GIJS” (original Arjan Beens, owned by Appie Pas (Fondgoud Oost) and later sold to Piet de Vogel/Sorin Florea). She is a grandchild of ”OLYMPIC MISS GIJSJE”. Many children of “MISS GIJSJE” have a big impact on the modern marathon pigeon and there’s a few worth mentioning: most famous of all is ”MG430” (Beens/Jellema) a.o. father to ”SILKE” (Jelle Jellema) – 1st National Barcelona, 2nd International Barcelona, 2nd International Narbonne yearlings & 3rd International Narbonne. But also ”MG780” (Beens/Verweij-de Haan) a.o. mother to ”FRENKIE” – 2nd National Ace pigeon in the international races, 13th National Agen & 20th National Perpignan and “FRANK” (Beens/J. van Schijndel & znn) who is the father to “LITTLE ROCK” (J. van Schijndel & znn) – 1st National Ace ZLU and grandfather to “THUNDER QUEEN” (Chris Paauwe) – 1st National Narbonne 2022 are super breeders and direct children of “OLYMPIC MISS GIJSJE“.

The famous couple of Robin Bakhuis “DE WIERSMA” x “DOCHTER MR. GIJS” is one of the best couples in the Netherlands currently. A couple that many dream of. The best children of this couple are:

An incredible pigeon that, to top it off, also won the 1st National Bergerac against more than 25,000 pigeons. “ROBIN” is already mother to “NEW RED ROBIN” – 2nd National Cahors

”DE 970” (Robin Bakhuis) – 1st National Cahors against 8,333 pigeons and the special thing is that this pigeon flew no less than 2 hours and 10 minutes ahead!

”DE 969” (Robin Bakhuis) – 3rd NPO Bergerac, 6th NPO Libourne, 8th NPO Bergerac & 20th NPO Libourne. This resulted in 7th National Ace pigeon FCI World Best & 8th National Ace pigeon PiPa-Ranking.
