Claudiu Roman visited many of the best marathon lofts in Belgium and The Netherlands dozens of times and brought many pigeons to his loft in Romania. Probably at the present time he owns the most exclusive colony of original Van der Wegen pigeons in the world.

Claudiu was a personal friend of (the late) Antoon van der Wegen & Lucie and visited this greatest icon in the pigeonsport, Antoon van der Wegen, many times. But he also visited many other Dutch top marathon lofts C.J. de Heijde, Gebroeders Brugemann, Gebroeders Hagens, Gerard van Tuyl, Jan Theelen, Nico Volkens, Verweij – de Haan and many more, and was one of the very first Romanian fanciers to introduce the best Dutch marathon pigeons in Romania !
As a result of all the big investments of Claudiu, many of his Romanian pigeonfriends became extremely succesful with pigeons from his breeding loft !
