Huibert Blokland – Klundert
Huibert (Bert for family and friends) has a fantastic collection of marathon pigeons from a few of the best Dutch Marathon fanciers ! In this auction, Huibert offers a very selective group of 7 pigeons from his Jelle Jellema breeding pairs – including pigeons (born in 2020) from his direct children of JILL, JOYCE, NEW JADE 2, 3 & 7.
Below you will find a letter from Huibert Blokland, introducing himself and explaning about his pigeons (a little history and his future plans!). Huibert kindly asked us to share this information with all of you:
” Beste Gert Jan,
Hier mijn eerlijke verhaal over de duiven.
Ik heb ongeveer 35 jaar postduiven, als eigenaar van een aannemingsbedrijf hield ik duiven voor de ontspanning en speelde ik met wisselende prestaties, want gezien mijn drukke baan was er niet altijd tijd genoeg om ze perfect te verzorgen. Ik besloot om aan de marathon vluchten te gaan deelnemen. Voorzichtig werden duiven van topspelers op de marathon aangekocht.
In 2015 werd mijn vrouw ongeneeslijk ziek en daalde de animo om duiven te houden. Maar op NADRUKKELIJK verzoek van mijn vrouw bleven de duiven op het hok. Er werd weinig met de duiven gespeeld en in 2020 overleed zij. Uiteindelijk werd de draad weer opgepakt en eind 2020 werd er een nieuw hok geplaatst door Wout van de Berg – Lascon uit Hendrik ido Ambacht.
In 2021 wordt gestart met ongeveer 34 jaarlingen en die krijgen dan een gedegen opleiding voor de ZLU vluchten.
Uit deze TOP koppels komen jongen (met een FENOMENALE afstamming) in de veiling.
